Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX Chronograph: Bluetooth Velocity Data Without the Hassle

The Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX Chronograph is the Bluetooth-equipped evolution of a proven chronograph design. If you have searched for a Competition electronics prochrono dlx chronograph review, this unit delivers ±0.5% accuracy and streams every shot string straight to your phone through the free Digital Link app . Consequently, it suits airgunners across Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and other EU countries who want dependable velocity data without manually logging numbers. Moreover, the on-board operating system stores up to nine strings of 99 shots each, complete with average, extreme spread, and standard deviation . Because Bluetooth reaches up to 50 feet, you can review statistics from the bench without walking to the unit . Therefore, whether you are checking Competition electronics prochrono dlx chronograph specs or comparing it against the ProChrono LTD, this chronograph deserves serious consideration.

ProChrono DLX Specifications: Velocity Range, Accuracy, and European Availability

The ProChrono DLX measures velocities from 20 to 9,999 FPS with ±0.5% accuracy or better . It weighs 2.1 lbs and mounts on any standard 1/4×20 tripod thread . Power comes from a single 9-volt alkaline battery, delivering roughly 20 hours of operation, and the dual compartment holds a spare . The unit carries a two-year warranty. European availability is confirmed through specialist airgun retailers. Therefore, shooters in Sweden, Finland, and Estonia can order this chronograph with confidence.

Bluetooth Digital Link App and Nine-String Memory

The defining feature of the DLX is its built-in Bluetooth connectivity. The free Digital Link app for iOS and Android collects velocity data, calculates statistics as you shoot, and exports strings when you get home . Moreover, the app integrates with PractiScore and Chronograph Log for competition scoring . One owner noted the Bluetooth setup picked up immediately on their tablet, with voice readout from the first shot . The on-board memory retains all data even after power-off and battery removal . Consequently, the DLX delivers modern data management without sacrificing standalone operation.

Known ProChrono DLX Problems Owners Report

Owners report several significant issues worth knowing. Indoor use demands the optional Indoor Lighting System, as the unit relies on ambient light through its top sensors . Moreover, fluorescent lamps render the chronograph useless because their pulsing cycle mimics projectile speed . Erratic readings have occurred, with one reviewer reporting velocities of “1500, 1795, 7785, 2875” from a load that should have been around 2850 FPS . Muzzle blast can trigger sensors if you position the unit too close, so pistols need 5-10 feet of clearance and rifles 10-15 feet . Therefore, owner feedback suggests accepting the outdoor-only limitation and setting up carefully.

Accuracy, Setup, and Range Performance

The ProChrono DLX delivers trustworthy velocity data when set up correctly. The ±0.5% accuracy matches the manufacturer’s specification, and the sensing system adapts to a wide variety of light conditions . Moreover, one airgun owner reported the unit worked flawlessly across approximately 50 shots with pellet testing, with not even one misread . The diffuser hoods improve accuracy on sunny days, while overcast conditions favour removing them . Consequently, the DLX supports load development and pellet testing with dependable data. For airgun shooters, the 20 FPS minimum covers even low-power pistols.

FINAL VERDICT

The Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX Chronograph represents the smart choice for shooters wanting Bluetooth convenience without sacrificing measurement precision. It offers ±0.5% accuracy, nine-string memory, and a two-year warranty . However, the optional indoor lighting requirement and occasional erratic readings mean it suits shooters willing to set up properly rather than expecting plug-and-play indoors. Purchase from a reputable European retailer with warranty support and knowledge of local regulations. Consider adding the Indoor Lighting System for winter testing, and always mount the unit on a tripod with a clear line of sight . Therefore, verify your intended use and lighting conditions before ordering, as regulations on shooting accessories vary across EU member states including Sweden, Finland, and Estonia.
