Benjamin Marauder Field and Target: The Regulated Marauder Built for Precision

The Benjamin Marauder Field and Target is a regulated PCP air rifle that takes the legendary Marauder platform and adds a factory-fitted regulator for exceptional shot-to-shot consistency. If you have searched for a Benjamin Marauder Field and Target review, this rifle delivers a Lothar Walther barrel, Turkish walnut stock, and a fully adjustable match trigger. Consequently, it suits target shooters and small game hunters across Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and other EU countries where 16 J air rifles are permitted. Moreover, the regulated design delivers approximately 50 good shots per fill from a 3000 psi charge. Because it features a shrouded barrel with integrated sound suppression, it remains one of the quietest PCP rifles in its class. Therefore, whether you are checking the Benjamin Marauder Field and Target price or comparing the Benjamin Marauder regulated vs unregulated, this rifle deserves serious consideration.

Benjamin Marauder Field and Target Specifications: Calibre, Power, and European Availability

The Marauder Field and Target comes in .177 and .22 calibres. The .22 version delivers velocities around 822 fps with 24 foot-pounds of energy from a 3000 psi fill. Weight sits at approximately 9.4 lbs (4.26 kg), making it a substantial platform for static shooting. Overall length measures 43 inches (1092mm) with a shrouded barrel. The 215cc air reservoir fills to a maximum of 3000 psi (207 bar) and delivers approximately 50 regulated shots in .22 calibre. Magazine capacity is 10 rounds with auto-indexing. The rifle features a Picatinny breech for scope mounting, an adjustable cheek-piece, and a rubber butt pad. Therefore, shooters in Sweden, Finland, and Estonia should verify local energy limits before ordering.

Regulated Performance and Lothar Walther Barrel

The defining feature of the Marauder Field and Target is its factory-fitted regulator. This system maintains consistent velocity from shot to shot, with one reviewer recording a standard deviation of just 2.1 fps over a full shot string. Moreover, the Lothar Walther barrel delivers exceptional accuracy, with one owner reporting sub-half-inch five-shot groups at 50 yards. The two-stage adjustable match trigger breaks cleanly, and the Turkish walnut stock with adjustable comb provides a classic sporter feel. The reversible bolt handle accommodates left-handed shooters. Consequently, the rifle delivers competition-grade consistency in a hunting-friendly package.

Benjamin Marauder Field and Target Problems Owners Report

Owners report several significant issues worth knowing. Weight is the most common complaint, with one owner describing the rifle as “so heavy that I don’t expect to ever use my $650 door stop”. Moreover, air leaks appear frequently, with one owner reporting their rifle leaked all air overnight after the first fill. The magazine receives criticism for being made of cheap plastic that fails to align rounds properly after a few sessions. Quality control issues have occurred, with one owner receiving a stock with no finish at all, and another reporting a misaligned barrel band causing point-of-impact shift. The bolt action is stiff, with one owner noting it was “very stiff even after over 600 pellets”. Therefore, owner feedback suggests inspecting the rifle thoroughly upon receipt.

Accuracy, Pellet Choice, and Range Performance

Pellet choice significantly impacts the Marauder Field and Target’s accuracy. One reviewer achieved a 10-shot group at 45 yards covered by a dime using JSB 15.89-grain pellets. Moreover, one owner reported sub-half-inch five-shot groups at 50 yards with the Lothar Walther barrel. The regulated system delivers consistent velocities, with one owner noting their rifle shoots “one hole groups at 20 yards right out of the box”. Consequently, test multiple pellet weights to find what your individual barrel prefers. The rifle excels at target shooting and small game hunting within 50 yards, with one owner cleanly taking pocket gophers at 25 yards.

Conclusion

The Benjamin Marauder Field and Target represents exceptional value in a regulated PCP rifle. It offers a Lothar Walther barrel, Turkish walnut stock, and 50 regulated shots per fill at an accessible price point. However, significant weight, magazine quality concerns, and quality control variability mean it suits shooters willing to inspect and potentially upgrade rather than expecting turnkey perfection. Purchase from a reputable European retailer with warranty support and knowledge of local regulations. Consider adding a Huma regulator if you want to tune further, and a pellet sampler pack to find the best ammunition for your barrel. Therefore, verify your country’s energy limits before ordering, as regulations vary across EU member states including Sweden, Finland, and Estonia. Shop at Airgun Armoury.
