Moreover, the CZUB barrel is manufactured in the Czech Republic and receives consistent praise for its accuracy potential . The carbon barrel shroud allows for tensioning, which mitigates vibrations and improves shot consistency . One critical note: when changing calibre, you must also replace the pellet probe to match the new calibre . Owners report the 300mm length delivers superb handling for medium-range work, with one shooter achieving “one ragged hole” at 50 metres on calm days . Consequently, the kit delivers genuine multi-calibre versatility without requiring a gunsmith.

Known Barrel Kit Epic Airguns Two Problems Owners Report

Owners report several significant considerations worth knowing. Magazine indexing issues have occurred, with one forum member noting the pellet probe length leaves little bore-side support, allowing magazines to index prematurely . Moreover, valve stiction and regulator creep have affected earlier Epic Two rifles, causing the first shots after sitting to land off target . Some owners report accuracy inconsistency with the CZUB barrel in .25 calibre, with one shooter describing 2-5cm groups at 50 metres until switching to steel targets where groups suddenly tightened . The 300mm length limits velocity potential compared to longer barrels, so shooters wanting maximum power should consider the 550mm or 700mm options. Therefore, owner feedback suggests testing accuracy thoroughly upon receipt and being prepared for some tuning.

Accuracy, Ammunition Choice, and Range Performance

Ammunition choice significantly impacts the CZUB 300mm barrel’s accuracy. Hard Air Magazine testing of the Epic Two with CZUB barrels found H&N Baracuda Match 21.14-grain pellets delivered the best accuracy, with Crosman Premier and JSB Jumbo Exact also performing excellently . Moreover, one owner reported their .177 CZ barrel handles both slugs and pellets well, achieving “one ragged hole” at 10-25 metres and connecting with 40x10mm chalk targets at 118 metres . The 1:17.7 twist rate handles lighter slugs effectively, though heavier projectiles may prefer the longer barrel options. Consequently, test multiple pellet weights and slug designs to find what your individual barrel prefers. The 300mm kit excels at compact handling and medium-range accuracy where manoeuvrability matters most.

FINAL VERDICT

It offers tool-free installation, a CZUB non-choked barrel, and a tensioning mechanism at an accessible price point .
